During this time of crisis in our world, many people are having a rough time staying home, loss of work, uncertainty, and much, much more. Although this can cause stress, remember we have a God who is in control of all situations.
Deuteronomy 31:6 (ESV) says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
God will always take care of us. If you feel alone, call Linda and I, or someone who also cares about you and talk on the phone, write an email or a text. Plug into our Bible Studies online, watch the sermons and teaching we are posting on YouTube, use your subscription to RightNow Media (if you are not using it or haven’t signed up yet, please let me know).
Another thing that helps is to write down or look up inspirational Biblical Scripture Verses, quotes and phrases. They can always help to shift our energy and boost our mood. In times of crisis like we’re experiencing now, meaningful and memorable words of wisdom can have even more resonance, giving us a fresh perspective or insight when we are feeling stressed or fearful and need it most. Positive and powerful words will speak to our heart (especially God’s Word) and help us with what we’re going through right now. Keep them by your bedside. Tape them to the mirror or desk, write them down, and look at a couple whenever you feel in need of a little mental, emotional, or spiritual inspiration.
A favorite quote of mine is from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. that says, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience but where he stands in times of challenge and controversy.
Most of all, remember to pray! Be encouraged that Jesus, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords has not left us or forsaken us.
Blessings to You all,
Pastor Chuck
